The Iowa Poultry Association was founded in 1929. The Association serves two basic functions. It is the trade association for the poultry industry in Iowa; this aspect involves promotion, legislation, education, insurance and public relations. In addition, through the National Poultry Improvement Plan, the Association serves as an agency for the control of poultry disease and includes monitoring of breeder flocks of chickens, turkeys, and water fowl in Iowa.
