Russell, Melissa P., 18---ca.1837.
A native of Springfield, Mass., Melissa Russell was the sister of Henry Russell, an Indian agent working near Tallassee, Ala. In 1835 she accompanied her brother and his new wife to Ala. Once there she met Perley Gerald and they were married in 1836 Mar. Melissa Russell Gerald died approximately one year later after being thrown from a horse.
