Hartley, Richard
Variant namesRichard Hartley (b. 1688) was born in Preston, Lancashire. He entered Trinity College, Dublin, as a sizar in 1707, and became a scholar there in 1710 (B.A, 1711; M.A., 1729).
Matthew French was born in Linsale, Co. Cork. He entered Trinity College, Dublin, in 1694 as a pensioner, at the age of 15, and became a scholar in 1695, and fellow in 1699 (B.A., 1698; M.A., 1701; B.D., 1710).
