Biographical note: University of Arizona student, pianist, and Spanish teacher; Maria Luisa Gabaldon was born in 1910 in Clifton, Arizona. The family moved to Safford in 1922 and she attended the University of Arizona beginning in 1927. Upon graduation, she taught Spanish in Safford and later at Potter School in Tucson. She performed as a pianist at many local events and locations.
