Syndergaard, Ardis Jean Carr, 1934-2008.

Ardis Jean Carr Syndergaard was born on June 19, 1934 in rural Hillsdale, Wisconsin. Her childhood was spent on her family's farm, where she lived in a log cabin and participated in farm work. In 1956, Ardis graduated from the Stout Institute (now the University of Wisconsin-Stout) with a degree in home economics education. She married Larry Syndergaard in 1958, and the family moved to Kalamazoo, Michigan. Ardis started a dressmaking business and worked for Medieval Institute Publications at Western Michigan University.
