Giroux, Joye S.

Joye S. Giroux began writing poetry when she was 18-years-old. Her poetry has won a number of awards and been published in numerous journals. She is a member of several poetry organizaitons, including the National Federation of State Poetry Societies, Inc. and the Poetry Society of Michigan, of which she served as president, 1980-1981, and "Poets Anonymous" of Big Rapids (Mich.). From 1969 through 1985, Giroux taught French at Big Rapids High School. Now retired, she lives in Clayton (N.C.). [This information is from the collection.].
