The National Federation of Labour Exchange and Unemployment Insurance Clerks' Association was founded in 1913. It became the National Federation of Employment Department Clerks' Association in 1917. It became the National Association of Employment Department Officers in 1918. It became the National Association of Officers of the Ministry of Labour in 1920. It became the National Association of Employment and Clerical Officers in 1921. It became the Ministry of Labour Staff Association in 1925 which merged with the Civil and Public Services Association in Feb 1973 to become the Civil and Public Services Association Department of Employment Section
