Chance, Doris,
Doris Chance, a native of Dothan, Ala., came to Columbus, Ga. and began working in the mills as a teenager in 1941. She started out filling batteries in the weave room and later worked as an inspector. She retired after over 40 years of service, primarily with Swift.
