Variant namesRudolf Lothar Franz Israel Baumfeld was born in 1903; he was a native of Vienna, Austria who worked with his friend and fellow architect Victor Gruen in New York and Los Angeles, where Baumfeld was principal designer for Victor Gruen and Associates (founded, 1951); he designed several projects in Europe and the US, including Costa Mesa's South Coast Plaza and the Tishman 615 Building in downtown LA; he died in 1988.
