Attributed to Dr. Daniel Denison Slade, the grandson of Daniel Denison Rogers. In April of 1891, Dr. Slade gave a talk to the Bostonian Society entitled "A Boston Merchant of 1891." In "The Memoir of Daniel Denison Slade," it is stated that, although the talk was never published, Slade had made a drawing of the house for his lecture based on his recollections and various plans and models.
