Illinois Liquor Control Commission

The Liquor Control Commission was created in 1934 to administer acts relating to manufacture, sale and distribution of liquor in Illinois (l. 1933, 2d Spec. Sess., p. 56). Three-member Commission is appointed by Governor. Commission and its staff issue and revoke licenses to manufacture, import, distribute and sell liquor; fix standards of manufacture; recommend rules and regulations for distribution and sale of liquor at local level; hear and determine appeals; and analyze laws outside Illinois in order to suggest improved legislation.
