Brescia College evolved from Mount Saint Joseph Junior College, which was established on the motherhouse grounds at Maple Mount in Daviess County. In the late 1940s, a branch of the College opened in Owensboro, but merged with the other at Maple Mount in 1950 to form Brescia, a four-year liberal arts college.
