On July 1, 1967 Rev. Eugene Anderson and family arrived in Alderwood Manor (Lynnwood) to begin work. Miss Alana Glimsdahl, an American Missions Parish worker, began making survey calls in the area. She worked in the area for about six weeks, and during this time she and the pastor made about 3500 calls. On September 10, 1967, the first service was held at Hazelwood Elementary School with 110 people in attendance, and Sunday School began the following Sunday with ten children attending. On December 1, 1967, an orientation meeting was held. Rev. Harry T. Sorenson and Rev. T. Arnold Thompson led the meeting and laid the ground work in preparation for the organizing of the congregation. On December 10, Dr. S. C. Siefkes was present to officially organize the congregation. March 3, 1968 marked the date for the first service in the present structure. Dedication of the building by Dr. Siefkes was held April 21, 1968. March 1980 marked the beginning of a building fund drive, and in September ground was broken for the first phase addition. Dedication of the new Parish Education and Office Wing was held September 12, 1982.
