Fairbanks, Franklin, 1828-1895.
Franklin Fairbanks was the son of Erastus and Lois (Crossman) Fairbanks of St. Johnsbury. He was active in the family scale business. He represented St. Johnsbury in the Vermont legislature during 1871-1873 and was speaker of the house in 1872. He played an active role in the founding of the Fairbanks Museum of Natural History in St. Johnsbury.
