Cheves family.
Langdon Cheves (1776-1857) was a Congressman and financier. His son, Langdon Cheves (d. 1863) was a planter. His son, grandson to the first Langdon Cheves, was Langdon Alexander Cheves (ca. 1854-1878), was a doctor. Langdon Alexander's sister, Emma Cheves, married Gilbert Wilkins.
