Ingalls, Melville E., 1842-1914.
President and receiver of the Indianapolis, Cincinnati, and LaFayette Railroad Company with headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio until 1905. Under his management the Cincinnati, Indianapolis, St. Louis and Chicago ("Big Four"), the successor company, grew substantially in both miles of track and business.
