General Assembly (ca. 1923-1928) during which time he served on multiple committees; employed in the tax department of the state unemployment compensation commission (1936-1946) and its successor, the state employment security commission (1946-1956); son of James Malachi Shealy and Elizabeth Leonora Shealy; born in Summit (Lexington County, S.C.); in 1924, married Maude Taylor Bradham of Manning, S.C., a union that produced two children: father of Anne Elizabeth, and C.L. Shealy, Jr., born 1927.
