Johnston, James J., b. 1829.
Johnston mustered into the 6th Kentucky on August 15, 1862 and resigned on September 24, 1863. Johnston was born in Kentucky in 1829 and, according to 1870 Census records, he lived in Carrollton with his wife Lizzie (of Maryland) and his nine children, Alice, Silas J., Georgie, Bettie, James, Laura, Robert, Tevis, and Jamie, as well as his mother in law Delila Gephart.
