Born at Long Gully, near Bendigo, in 1857. Educated at Sandhurst High School, and then became a teacher. Graduated in Arts at Melbourne in 1882. Obtained degrees in medicine and surgery in 1885-1886, and was appointed to be resident medical staff of Melbourne Hospital. Became Doctor of Medicine in 1888 and began general practice in North Fitzroy. Lectured at the Training School for Nurses at Melbourn Hospital, 1898-1916. 1914 - Appointed Lecturer in Clinical Medicine at Melbourne Hospital. 1916 - Retired. Member of the University Masonic Lodge, and of the Victorian Historical Society. Committee member of the Medical Society of Victoria, and President in 1904. Contributed articles to both newspapers and professional journals. Died July 17, 1934.
