Author, historian and broadcaster. Born in Harrow, England, he migrated to Western Australia in 1912 with his family, settling in Victoria Park. Later he moved to the South-West where he worked at tree-felling and land clearing on Group Settlements from 1922 to 1929. He became a plumber, eventually managing his own business as a master plumber. During World War II, he was stationed at Pearce and Busselton Air Force Stations. His interests included music (he played the flute), choral work, history and writing, and he was an active member of the W.A. Historical Society. He wrote a large number of short stories on everyday life and local history, many of which were published in newspapers, magazines and newsletters. He also presented a number of talks on ABC radio.
