After earning his B.A. (1941) and M.A. (1947) at the University of Florida, Paul W. Partridge, Jr., received a Ph.D. in American Civilization at the University of Pennsylvania in 1951. His advisors were English professor Arthur Hobson Quinn and Fine Arts professor Robert C. Smith.
