Doctor Dorsey W. Baker was born in Wabash County, Ill., in 1823. After ventures in California he settled in Walla Walla, Wash., in 1861, opening a store and investing in railroads and steamboats, and becoming associated with Henry W. Corbett and Alexander Ankeny of Portland.
