Beckwith family.
English army officers, John, Sir George, and Sir Thomas Sydney Beckwith. Sir George Beckwith was also a colonial governor; his brother Sir Thomas Sydney Beckwith served in Denmark and in the Peninsular campaign, and was subsequently commander in chief at Bombay, India (1829).
