American Society of Interior Designers
Variant namesThe American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) is a nonprofit professional society which represents the interests of interior designers and the interior design community. ASID was founded in 1975 with the consolidation of the American Institute of Decorators (AID) and the National Society of Interior Designers (NSID). ASID led the fight for professional recognition and licensing of interior designers, securing professional status in 19 states since 1982. It credits itself as being the definitive resource for knowledge sharing, advocacy of interior designers' right-to-practice, professional education, and expansion of interior design markets.
