Hide Profile

The Pickwick Jewish Center was the result of the merger of Har Zion Tifereth Israel and Petach Tikva, two Orthodox synagogues in Baltimore. Har Zion and Tifereth Israel were originally two separate synagogues which merged in 1956. While the official name of the congregation was Har Zion Petach Tikvah Tifereth Israel when the merger took place in 1972, it took the name Pickwick Jewish Center in 1974 for check writing and administrative purposes. Pickwick began to distribute its assets and records to various organizations in 1988. It continued to hold board meetings and make donations as laste as 1995. It is unclear what happened to the organization after 1995.
