David W. Kamens is an emeritus professor of history at Ball State University. He is the son of Mrs. Margaret A. Kamens of North Hollywood, California. He graduated with a Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1971. He joined the faculty of Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana in 1968. Kamens ran for the10th Congressional District in 1970 and lost to incumbent Rep. David W. Dennis. He ran for the Muncie City Council as a member of the Poor People's Party in 1971.
