Dyer, Henry Andrews, 1843-1912.

Henry Andrews Dyer of Dyersville, Iowa served with Company C of the 21st Iowa Infantry from August 1862 to July 1865. On May 30, 1863 he was taken prisoner and held at Shreveport, La. where he became severely ill. After his release and a subsequent furlough he was given a quartermaster position at Camp Distribution and was later detailed to the headquarters of Major General Ed. R.S. Canby, where he served until the end of the war.
