Dayton Reginald Eugene Brown (b. June 7, 1895, Chicago, Ill.; d. Aug. 22, 1971), American artists, studied at the AIC, University of Illinois, Art Center School of Los Angeles, and San Diego State College. He moved to southern California in the 1920s and settled in South Pasadena where he specialized in portraits of Hollywood stars and illustrations for the movie industry. From 1936 he maintained a portrait studio in Coronado. During WWII he served as head of Concealment Research for the U.S. Navy.
