Yarborough, William P., 1912-2005
Variant namesU.S. Army general; b. William Pelham Yarborough; active in the airborne phase of the Allied North African invasion in World War II; later served in Italy and southern France; in 1956 became deputy chief of U.S. Military Advisory and Assistance Group, Cambodia (also called MAAG Indochina); in 1961 assumed command of the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School where he developed a standard training regimen for all U.S. Special Forces; recipient of Distinguished Service Medal, Silver Star, and the Bronze Star.
