George Washington Jackson, Jr. was originally from Hertford, North Carolina. He graduated from Trinity Park School in Durham in 1921. He attended Trinity College from 1921-1923. While at Trinity College, Jackson was a member of the Columbian Literary Society, the Folklore Society and the Biology and Chemistry Clubs.
