The Association of Lithuanian Workers, commonly known by its Lithuanian acronym, LDS (Lietuvių Darbininkų Susivienijimas), a progressive fraternal organization was founded in 1930. From 1953 to 1957 the LDS was on the U.S. Attorney Generals list of subversive organizations. As of 2003, the LDS continued to administer an insurance program, and in 2006 the LDS was merged into the Royal Arcanum, a non-ethnically-based fraternal organization.
