Robert Davis Terry (b. Sept. 4, 1920, Indianapolis, Ind.-d. July 13, 2006, Sterling, Va.) received his commission as 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army upon his graduation from the U.S. Military Academy in 1942. He advanced to rank of major general after in 1970 after serveral command posts including commanding general of the 1st Signal Brigade and ACSC-E, USARV in 1966 and 1967, and assistant chief of staff for Army communications and electronics in Vietnam. He also served on the faculty of West Point.
