Southern Baptist Convention Home Mission Board. Executive Office.
Missions organization of the SBC founded in 1845 (now called North American Mission Board). Employed missionaries across North America to Indians, migrant groups, rural and urban areas, and Jewish missions. The HMB also conducted several special areas of mission work to deaf persons, institued a literacy missions program, and expanded to Puerto Rico and the Canal Zone.
