Harry Dalton joined the Orioles organization in 1953 and by 1961 was overseeing the minor league operations. He remained Director through 1965 and became Vice President in 1966. From 1972 through to 1977, Dalton was the general manager and VP of the California Angels. He then moved onto the Milwaukee Brewers, where he remained until 1981. Dalton was twice named "Executive of the Year" by The Sporting News, 1970 and 1982. He was a well-respected executive and considered a shrewd trader and brilliant evaluator of talent as a general manager.
