The Taylor and Mast General Store was a general store located in Valle Crucis, North Carolina. It was built in 1882 and opened by C.D. Taylor in 1883. In 1897, William Wellington Mast purchased a half interest in the store, and it was known as the Taylor and Mast General Store. In 1913, W.W. Mast purchased the remainding interest. In 1973, the Mast Family sold the store to a doctor in Atlanta and a professor at Appalachian State University. John and Faye Cooper purchased the Mast Store and reopened it in June, 1980. Most of the store's suppliers were wholesalers located in Bristol and Johnson City, Tennessee. These include stores of dry goods, groceries, shoes, hardware, and oil companies.
