Antoine family.
Josephine "Josie" Antoine, one of the early illustrious alumnae of the University of Colorado, Boulder, where she majored in history. She later sang with the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York, as a coloratura soprano. The family lived at 1011 Spruce St., and later 955 College Ave., Boulder. Josie's father Arthur H. Antoine ran the A & B Kash Karry Grocery, on University Hill in Boulder. The B in the store name stood for Harry Ball, father of Mary Ethel Ball. In early days the Antoines lived in Marshall.
