Carl Amandus Brandt (b. Jan. 9, 1906, Fort Niebrara, Neb.-d. Dec. 23, 1961) received his commission in the field artillery from West Point in 1930. He advanced to the rank of brigadier general in June 1945, serving as Deputy Commander then Chief of Staff of theThirteenth Air Force in 1945 and 1946. He retired at rank of major general in 1961.
