North Carolina State University's Animal Science Club was started as the Animal Industry Club in 1936 by students interested in promoting livestock industries in North Carolina, and in providing interactions among students, faculty, and livestock producers. The name of the club was changed to the Animal Science Club in 1962 or 1963. The organization participated in a variety of professional, service, and social activities, including assorted programs, suppers, dances, competitions, and conferences. The Animal Science Club remained active as of 2008.
