O'Sullivan, labor organizer, factory worker and inspector, became the first woman general organizer of the American Federation of Labor in 1892, was one of the founders of the National Women's Trade Union League in 1903, and was an inspector for the Massachusetts Board of Labor and Industries, 1914-1929.
