Caroline was born on May 4, 1922, the daughter of Francis and Cora Schnitzler. She graduated from St. Joseph High School, Muskegon (Mich.) in 1938 as Valedictorian, from Aquinas College in 1962, and earned her Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of Michigan in 1965. Caroline worked as a librarian and teacher at both Aquinas and Davenport Collges, and as the Assistant Clerk in the CMU Governments Documents Department. She married Francis Baker in Muskegon on May 16, 1975. As a Reference Librarian, she retired from Hackley Public Library in 1983. Caroline died on Dec. 6, 2003. She was survived by her husband, two sons and five daughters, as well as numerous other relatives. One son, Joseph, preceded her in death. Her funeral was held at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Muskegon. (This information is from her obituary.)
