John Bundy Brown (1805-1881), the son of Titus Olcott Brown (1764-1855) and Susannah Bundy Brown (1771-1851), was a successful merchant, manufacturer, and banker in Portland, Me. He established J. B. Brown & Sons, a private banking house, which later became a real estate company. Brown married, on 30 September 1830, Ann Matilda Greely (1808-1901). They had five children: Matilda (1828- ), who died in infancy; Philip Henry (1831-1893); James Olcott (1836- ); John Marshall (1838-1907); and Ellen Greely (1841- ).
