Emile Francis du Pont was born on May 20, 1898 and was educated at the United States Naval Academy and Yale University. In 1923 he joined the operating department of the Du Pont Rayon Company (Buffalo, N.Y.). Two years later he became assistant plant manager of the Cellophane Division (Richmond, Va.). From 1934 to 1941 he was director of production for the Nylon Division. In 1945 he became director of the Employee Relations Department. Emile du Pont also served on the Du Pont Company's Executive and Finance Committees from 1944 until his death on December 5, 1974.
