Barkley, John W., 1889-1986.
Cleveland, Ohio lawyer who worked for Alta House and Goodrich House social settlements and the Cleveland Board of Education and also served as an assistant to the Law Director for the city of Cleveland in matters relating to the Board of Education. He later joined the firm of Squire, Saunders and Dempsey, served as mayor of Shaker Heights, 1950-55, and was a trustee of Hiram House. Barkley attended Allegheny College, Meadville, Pa., and was involved in many college debates. He later married Margaret Megrit.
