Pacific Northwest Political Science Association was established in 1947 as political science began to establish itself as a viable academic discipline. The primary activity of the PNPSA was an annual conference where academic papers were presented. Don Balmer, a Political Science professor from Lewis & Clark College was instrumental in the ongoing operations of the organization, as well as the assembly of this set of records. As of 2009 the organization was still operating out of the Lewis & Clark College Political Science department.
