University of Rhode Island. Agricultural Experiment Station
Variant namesThe Rhode Island Agricultural Experiment Station was established in 1888 by an act of the state legislature which also provded for the creation of a state agricultural school, both in Kingston, R.I. The school eventually became the University of Rhode Island. During its more than one hundred of service the Station's original mission of agricultural research and experimentation for the benefit of Rhode Island farmers has been expanded to meet the changing needs and demands of agriculture both at home and far beyond state borders.
