Miriam J. Brown was born in Newington, Georgia. During World War II, she was an activities director for the U.S.O, a service organization, which provided food, entertainment, contacts with home, and other services for military servicemen. Following the war she became a librarian for the Georgia Historical Society. She died in Savannah, Georgia.
