Princeton University. Balloon Club.

Hide Profile

The Princeton University Balloon Club was the creation of Gordon Sadler '76, who sought to create an organization on campus that would provide students, alumni, faculty, and staff with the ability to participate in the increasingly popular activity of ballooning. The initial club members were able to raise 10,000 dollars with their own money and contributions from interested alumni, enabling the purchase of an orange and black hot air balloon dubbed "The Flying Tiger." An aluminum gondola was contributed by wealthy alumnus and ballooning enthusiast Malcolm Forbes.
