Anne Stevenson, poet, was born in Cambridge, England, on 3 January 1933. She attended the University High School, Ann Arbor, Michigan, 1947-1950; Michigan University, Ann Arbor (B.A., 1954; M.A., 1962); and the Radcliffe Institute, Cambridge, Massachusetts, 1970-1971. She worked as a school teacher during the late 1950s and early 1960s, and thereafter was tutor and fellow at a number of universities. She was co-editor of Other poetry, Leicester, 1978-1983; Mid-Day Publications, Oxford; and other poetry editions. Her publications include Correspondences: a family history in letters (1974), Enough of green (1977), Minute by glass minute (1982), The fiction-makers (1985), The other house (1990), Collected poems (1996) and A report from the border (2003).
