Livingston, Sarah McKinley, b. ca. 1848-

Born about 1848, she married a Mr. Livingston at the beginning of the Civil War and had no children. Her father Peter served as a Michigan representative of Mackinac Island for two terms, beginning in 1858. He was appointed as the lighthouse keeper of Harbor Point, Beaver Island in 1859. When he had health problems a year later, his two youngest daughters ran the lighthouse. For further family information see the History of Beaver Island 1988 issue in the Clarke Historical Library which quotes certain chapters of these papers verbatim and includes a photograph of the younger sisters.
