Biographical note: Daniel H. Stickney went to California during the Gold Rush, arrived in Tucson in 1857, worked as a merchant, was imprisoned at Fort Yuma during the Civil War, was a member of the Territorial Legislature from 1864 until his death in 1871. He was chairman of the Committee on Military and Indian Affairs in 1868.
